The Maui part of the honeymoon

The first day in Maui, we hopped in the rental car and headed to the Hana coast. It's a desolate road into the east side of the island where there is tons and tons of switchbacks along the edge of the island. It was really beautiful, but John and I had just been sitting for the past 3 days in the plane back from Colorado, the plane from San Diego to Seattle to Kauai, and then the plane from Kauai to Maui. We had had enough of the sitting and definitely were frustrated with the amount of tourists along this coast. We couldn't even stop and see any of the waterfalls along the road because there was no place to park! We ended up hitting our hotel mid-afternoon and napping until dark. It was so relaxing!

Our second day we stayed in Napili Bay, on the northwest corner of Maui. Our hotel room was beach side. It was so nice to fall asleep with the light breezes and the sound of the waves crashing.

The morning we left, we borrowed a bodyboard from our hotel and had some fun in the waves. The water was so warm!! And it wasn't too bad being able to bodyboard right outside our hotel room!
