Welcome Christopher Lumpkin!!!

Our good friends here in San Diego, Cammie and Tony, had their 2nd child last week. Welcome Christopher Andrew Lumpkin!! We babysat their 18 month old son, Connor, for 5 days while they were at the hospital and trying to establish a schedule for the baby at home. We had so much fun with Connor! He definitely kept us going! I'm sure you will all be seeing a lot more pictures of the kids!

Honeymoon!! YAY!!!

Leaving the house for the start of the honeymoon!!!

You all remember John's favorite toy....the Cirrus. We were able to reserve the plane and have John fly us to Colorado. It was another opportunity for us to do something different and adventurous and see some different parts of the country we wouldn' t be able to otherwise.

A few pics when we were flying out of California...

Lake Havasu

A few pics of Colorado from the sky...

John flew us over the Grand Canyon and gave me the chance to get some awesome shots!

Dunton Hot Springs

So our big splurge for the honeymoon was a hot springs all-inclusive resort in Dunton, Colorado. We actually saw it on the Travel Channel. Let me tell you it was everything we expected and more!! It was absolutely gorgeous, set in the middle of the San Juan mountains. It was actually an old mining town that became a ghost town, and then was bought up and made into a resort. We flew in Tuesday after the wedding and stayed until Saturday morning. Everyone there was amazing and friendly. We couldn't have had a better time!

The saloon was the kitchen, bar, dining room, and recreation room. Before dinner every night, John and I would go down early, chat with the chef, and either play pool or acey duecey.

Our cabin was awesome! We had our own log cabin with our own hot springs bath! The first time we entered it...there was soft music playing, chilled champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries awaiting us, and our personal itinerary for the week.

The first day, we just explored the town, soaked in the hot springs, enjoyed the views, and had massages (John's first!!). It was just a great relaxing day.....something we badly needed after the craziness of the wedding.

Day 2 of Colorado

We spent all of day 2 backcountry snowboarding in the San Juan Mountains. Our guide, Josh, was amazing!! He usually spends his spring in the Himalayas skiing K2!! Crazy someone actually does that! He did a really good job explaining to us how to read the snow, looking for avalanche dangers, etc. We had a great time! We had so much fun, we went back to the saloon at the resort and had a beer with Josh. Boy did that beer taste good after boarding all day!
The guide, Josh, was awesome! He brought his snowmobile to drive us to the area where we were going to be skiing. It would have added 12 miles to our skinning!

This is actually a field that a shepherd lives during the summer. Not a bad place to live huh?

Day 3 of Colorado

We spent our 3rd full day in Colorado in the valley about 1.5 hours from the resort. The resort provided all day transportation. First we headed to a horseback riding ranch. It was just the 2 of us on a ride with the guide/owner and her dog. It was absolutely beautiful. We rode all morning and then enjoyed feeding our horses at the end.

This was the guide's dog who rode with us on the trail. He had the tour memorized and laid down wherever he knew there would be talking. Our pups would have loved to ride with us too!

The guide led us to some ancient Indian ruins. It was weird standing in the middle of the desert and seeing snow in the distance. It was beautiful and we had a great time looking at the petroglyphs and hearing all the stories from the guide.

The second part of our day we headed to Sutcliffe Vineyards. It was absolutely beautiful. The owner of the vineyard actually came out on the patio, sat down with us to drink some wine, and told stories. It couldn't have been prettier and everyone couldn't have been nicer. We actually bought a whole case of wines. We especially like the Rose and we bought several bottles to use for our anniversary wine!

The 2nd guy in charge brought us into the storage area and actually siphoned wine out of the barrels for us to drink right there with him!
