I can't tell you how nice it is to have a yard!!! John and I this weekend finally got to plant our vegetable garden. Of course John was systematic about it and had drawn the garden to scale on grid paper just to make sure it was perfect. We went all out and have planted tomatoes, corn, peppers, lettuce, spinach, strawberries, and cucumbers. Let's hope we can keep the dogs out of it!!! We are also working on all of our flower gardens, so keep your eyes open for more pictures coming!
So I've decided to get my butt in gear and start blogging again! We are living in Kodiak, AK now, a little island at the start of the Aleutian Chain. Check out our everyday life!

Ems visits us in SD!
One of my oldest friends from NY came to visit this past weekend. Ems and I went to highschool together and played BBall and lacrosse together. While she was here, we cruised a ton....beaches, Hillcrest, Temecula, La Jolla, and the good old San Diego Zoo! It's a staple when visiting SD for the first time! I have to say....this was the first time in any zoo I actually saw the Panda awake!!
I couldn't resist taking pictures of this little girl feeding the giraffe. The first time the giraffe took the food she made the funniest face and squealed when he licked her. It was adorable. We sat for a long time and watched the Meerkats. They were the funniest things, they just stood up and looked at us like they were ready to interact.
We also headed to the wine country in Temecula and did a little wine tasting when Ems was here. John was the responsible DD and took care of us. We had lots of fun and had some really really good wine. We have almond champagne from a vineyard called Wilson Creek that is to die for and it's awesome in Mimosas. We have plenty for everyone to taste when they come to visit!
It was so hot there that all the flowers were in full bloom at all the vineyards! And you know me....can't miss out on some good flowers for pictures!
